THE OPERATING SYSTEM

This system can be operated within a room of 8 meters square (689 square feet). Additional external storage tanks (shown in the diagram) are also required for storing incoming used lubricating oil and outgoing clean base oil.

A standard MemPore System 15A:

  • Processes up to 15 metric tons per day of incoming used lubricating oil – equivalent to 110 barrels/17,500 liters/4600 gallons.
  • Delivers 65% to 70% in clean base oil at end of process.
  • Has a low operating temperature (100˚ C).
  • Is fully automated.
  • Can be started and stopped at will.
  • Larger systems (up to 30 metric tons per day) can be built if required.

Pre-treatment Units

Our pre-treatment units filter gross contaminants and remove water, glycol, alcohol, and emulsions.

Membrane Unit

Our membrane unit, the heart of our system, separates the pre-treated oil from other chemicals at the molecular level, based on their molecular weights.

Polishing Unit

Our polishing unit removes any remaining color, odor and any small metal and sulfur moieties.

WHAT MAKES MEMPORE UNIQUE?

Nano-Filtration Membranes

The “heart” of every MemPore system is our unique nano-filtration membranes. Made from durable thermoplastic polymers and backing material that is macro-porous to organic liquids, they are only 0.003 inches thick and can last for at least one year. Porosity is controlled to molecular size and can be tuned for use with a particular oil.
